The wines of Margaux: delicacy and finesse.... The vines on the land of Margaux appeared during the time of Gallo-Romans. The appellation “Margaux” is the largest one and one of the most famous of Bordeaux. The AOC “Margaux” is spread over 5 villages: Margaux, Cantenac, Soussans, Arsac and Labarde. In 1855, it was the most awarded appellation, with 21 castles classified. These 21 châteaux represent 62% of the production of the appellation of Margaux. The crus bourgeois (the name of crus bourgeois is now no more allowed), the crus artisans and other crus are making the rest of the production.
