Château Malescot Saint Exupery

Château Malescot Saint Exupéry : This 3rd Cru Classé of Margaux has a very good evolution for the last 10 years. Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry belongs to the Zuger family since 1955 and it is now Jean-Luc Zuger that leads the estate. The history of the property begins in the 17th century with the Escoussés family that sold it at the end of this century to Maître Simon Malescot. In 1827, comte Jean-Baptiste Saint-Exupéry, grand-grand-father of the aviator, bought the Château. In 1853, his widow must sell it on auction because of the expenses spent by her husband during his life. Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry is then bought by Mrs Fourcade and Boissac that sold it in the beginning of the 20th century. After this sell, the Château would go through a time of trouble before the actual owners – Zuger family from Zoug in Switzerland - buy it. The 23.5 hectares of the Château produce a very feminine wine gathering fineness and complexity… La Dame de Malescot is the second wine of the Château. The wine is assembled from cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot varietal. Château Malescot Saint Exupéry was the first château that got equipped with a cold room for a better management of cold pre-fermentation.
