The parcel of « Clos de Tart », located in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, is the only property of Mommessin (a « négociant » from Mâcon). In this small town, spotted in the middle of the Côte de Beaune, this monopole lead by Sylvain Pitiot is only constituted by pinot noir. The soil “chalky Bajocian” offers steady wines, rich and full of small red and black fruits aromas. The Clos de Tart knew its rebirth from the 1980s. The estate, which belonged to the Cistercians monks until the French Revolution, is surrounded by 2 other Grands Crus: The Clos des Lambrays in the North and the Bonnes Mares in the South.
