Beschreibung der Weingüte Château Cheval Blanc: The most accessible from Saint-Emilion … Part of the present Château Cheval Blanc would be a former inn, in which King Henry the fourth would have stayed. In honor of his king, the landlord decided to rename it " Auberge du cheval blanc ". The name was taken up for the Château Cheval Blanc to designate the extension of the old inn. In 1832, Ducasse acquires 15 hectares of the Figeac’s area, and then a few years later, another 15 acres were added. His daughter married Jean Laussac-Fourcaud, and brings the 30 hectares of his father, as a dot. Consequently, Jean Laussac-Fourcaud exploits the full capabilities of this area. After his death, his son, Albert took over the operation. After a long family tradition, Albert Frère and Bernard Arnaud bought, in 1998, the Château Cheval Blanc. Pierre Lurton, current director of the castle is also the director of the château d’Yquem. Located at the edge of the Pomerol’s appellation, this château of 37 hectares is the most regular and the finest (flavors) of Saint-Emilion. On a sandy and gravelly soil, cabernet franc takes its entire splendor. It is a flavor and sensual wine, accessible from his youth, it provides an impressive potential for ageing. It will reveal its entire subtle aromas after a decade or more. The purest expression of a unique soil…
